And I hate how everytime she was with Ido, then she went with the emperor and was all ‘omg I love him! I can’t— Then swirling blackness dragged me away from his tortured scream. And the emperor couldn’t even be with her by law, cause he’ll need to have royal wives, and a mountain of royal concubines!
I couldn’t stand the characters. It’s a complicated relationship between two powerful people who are all too aware of each other’s power.
Ido was one great whopping surprise in this book, it’s only a really good writer that can take you from seething hatred towards a character to pity to almost-kinda-liking him. What is most important now is that Eona learn how to use her powers. I admire her for it. We could not hold out much longer, but we could not possibly give our power to Ido.
Later it’s used to free the dragons from their bonds to the Imperial Pearl- the dragons were forced to serve the ruling Emperor through a deal they made between themselves. Along with Eona, Ido was the other character I constantly looked out for, eager to see his progression and where he’d end up.
When freeing the dragons Ido tries to steal the dragons power, but is destroyed in the process one human can’t handle all of the dragons power by them self because Eona refuses to help Ido steal the power, despite Ido trying to convince her otherwise. I didn’t expect Eona to choose Ido, or want him deep down. Shine of the Silver Dragon: First she was a boy, then she was a nympho. dragkneye
