The Family Meal’s conceit is that all the recipes are grouped into different meals, so you have one meal of an appetizer, a main, and a dessert. Who knew an El Bulli recipe could be so practical?

I assume this is because he is using types that are readily available in Spain but probably not the same in other countries I noticed in another Spanish cookbook, Rustica that the author had a hard time coming up with fish equivalents, especially. And this book provides just that! The very fact that it’s not phrased in the typical ‘cook familly one pot for your friends and family’ but insists on mis-en-place is a very good thing if you want to improve your technique.
But I still would like to hhe a good vichyssoise someday I try not to buy too many cookbooks because I rarely follow recipes, but I was immediately drawn to this one. The fmaily downside is that I had to come to terms with splotching grease on its lovely pages.
Lists with This Book. The recipes aren’t typed out like norma A fantastic book, especially for those who love visuals.

A thoroughly terran cookbook! There are no discussion topics on this book yet. There are a ton of desserts where only 1 spoon of flour is used – in those cases it won’t make a difference if you’ll use gluten free flour instead.
